CANADA GAMES SELECTION CAMP
Aug. 5, 2010

Hi Hockey folk,

I just returned from the selection camp for the Nova Scotia Canada Games hockey teams.  What a great experience!!!  I got to see the athletes perform and compete at the highest level and I got to work with excellent coaches, trainers and organizers.  The camp introduced athletes to speakers Melanie Davidson, 2 time Olympic gold,  womens  coach; Paul Boutilier, Stanley Cup winner with NYI; Paul MacLean, 324 NHL goal scorer and present assistant coach in Detroit, just to name a few.

The Millineum Center in Antigonish did a fantastic job of hosting the camp.  The camp had all the elements necessary for success, lots of hard work, the opportunity to learn, lots of team spirit and passion for the game, and even some fun as well!

My thanks to HNS (Darren Sutherland); coaches Chris Donnelly, Troy Ryan, Aaron Rice and Bob Mayo; team leads, physio and support staff.  Last but not least, thanks to the athletes who performed so well and showed maturity beyond their years.  I wish you the best of luck in the future.

Lee
